about the COMPANY...

Sam & Tasha LLC is located in Brooklyn's trendy Williamsburg district. It was founded in 2009. Sam & Tasha was created to bring a human design sensibility to pet fashion. Guided by the aesthetic of adult and children's wear, Sam & Tasha looks to incorporate the same tasteful elements into everything we create. This means breezy cotton prints and delicately patterned outerwear fabrics, all finished with exquisite detail. Ruffled necklines. Flower shaped buttons. Crocheted lace and topstitching that lends that special "something extra". It's pet-ware. Not prom-ware.

All design prototypes are created in our Brooklyn headquarters. We partner with select manufacturers in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Sam & Tasha owner, Laura Kinsey, divides time between her Williamsburg design offices and traveling overseas to personally select every fabric, finish and trim.

Future product lines for Sam & Tasha include beds, blankets, bowls and an expanded outerwear and accessories line.

abour the OWNER/DESIGNER...

Brooklyn based designer Laura Kinsey began her career immersed in the art and design scene of Florence, Italy. Returning to finish her BA in interior design, Laura soon relocated to New York's famed Chelsea district. It was there she noticed something that perplexed her. Little dogs, most of them dressed like they were headed to the prom. In other words, dripping in sequins and drenched in gold lame. Why was personal fashion so particular, but pet fashion so outlandish? It was then she hatched a plan. Returning to earn a post-graduate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2008, Laura founded Sam & Tasha a year later.

about HUGO...

Laura has an 10 pound Maltese named Hugo. Hugo is very discriminating. His fashion sensibility would best be described as "lively but thoughtful." His hobbies are sleeping, trying on clothes, and eating dehydrated meat.
